Last weekend, over 140 members of the RV Roof Protection community gathered for our monthly virtual meeting — one of the most energetic sessions we’ve had all year. From first-timers asking beginner questions to seasoned full-timers sharing years of maintenance wisdom, the conversation was rich, practical, and deeply encouraging.
Meeting Highlights
The June meeting opened with a live Q&A session hosted by certified applicator Greg Holden out of Phoenix, Arizona. Greg walked attendees through a live drone footage review of three different RV roofs — one freshly coated, one two years post-application, and one that was badly neglected. The contrast was striking and got the chat buzzing immediately.
“The two-year-old polyurea roof looked nearly identical to the freshly coated one,” Greg explained. “That’s exactly what you want to see. Compare that to the degraded rubber roof with visible cracking and you understand immediately why so many of our members are making the switch.” If you’re still comparing options, our comprehensive guide to comparing RV roof coating options: EPDM, TPO, fiberglass, and polyurea is a must-read before your next decision.
Member Spotlights
We highlighted three member stories this month:
- Karen & Bill Whitmore (full-timers, 7 years on the road) — applied polyurea to their Class A two seasons ago and haven’t touched the roof since. “We used to reseal every six months like clockwork,” Karen shared. “Now I don’t even think about it.”
- Tom Nakashima (weekend warrior, Pacific Northwest) — dealt with a persistent leak above his slideout for three years before coating. Problem solved on the first application. Tom’s story mirrors what our article on RV roof leak detection warning signs describes perfectly.
- The Fernandez Family (seasonal travelers) — newly certified applicators who attended to learn more about their own RV and ended up joining the applicator network. Read more about the benefits of becoming a certified applicator.
Upcoming Webinar: “RV Roof Winterization Live Workshop”
Mark your calendars for July 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST — we’re hosting a live 90-minute workshop on winterizing your RV roof before the cold season hits. Our team will walk through everything covered in our detailed RV roof winterization guide, with live demonstrations and a member Q&A session.
Space is limited to 250 attendees. Register through our contact page to reserve your spot.
Community Poll Results
We ran our monthly poll asking members: “What’s your biggest RV roof concern heading into summer?” The results were eye-opening:
- 42% — UV damage and heat expansion
- 31% — Seam and sealant integrity
- 18% — Roof vent and accessory sealing
- 9% — Ponding water after rain
Based on this feedback, we’re planning a dedicated article series on UV protection strategies. Be sure to check out our existing resources on extending the life of your RV roof in the meantime.
Next Month’s Meeting
The July community meeting is scheduled for July 19, 2026. Topic: “Roof Coating on a Budget — What’s Worth Spending On and What Isn’t.” If you want to get a head start, review our breakdown of the best RV roof coatings for long-lasting protection and bring your questions.
